About Our Family Research

James Lawson is our 6th greatgranfather and we are decendents of his son-in-law James Robert Canady that married James Lawsons daughter Elizabeth. James and Elizabeths son Lawson W. Canady is buried at Mount Pleastant Cemetery in Henry County in Tennessee. J.B. Canady is also buried there and he is the son of James Thomas Canady. He is the granson of James Lawson and Catherine Lawson.(James Thomas)
The son of Lawson W. Canady, William Lawson is also buried there. He would be my granfather. His son Noble Madison Canady is my father and he is also buried there. We have land records and marriage records and all kinds of records on James Lawson. He was from Ireland and moved to the United States in 1766.He went there and served in the Revolutionary War and then moved to Orange County N.C and then to Bedford County Tennessee and then to Hickman County and then to Henry County in Conyersville and died August 1852. We are still reseaching the death place. We are interesting in finding out about James Robert Canady. He is a missing link for us right now. We have tracked our family back to 7 generations and most are still living in Henry County these are the decendents of James and Elizabeth Lawson.
