Jean Baptiste Gerard helped settle the Corning, Iowa, colony of Icarians. Probably arrived at New Orleans from France. Currently looking for descendants of the 8 sons of Jean Baptiste & Theodorine Josephine Othello (born 1838). Married in Iowa. Jean Baptiste was born to Jean Baptiste Gerard & Mary Ann Larone in Darnay, France in 1823 & died in 1893.
