The Family of George and Elizabeth (Farago) Szirbik

This search is in it's infancy and all very new. George and Elizabeth Szirbik left Hungary in Approx. 1904-1905. Before coming to America in Approx. 1905-1906, they spent one year in Nova Scotia, Canada. George was born in Mako, Hungary in about 1881. Elizabeth was born in Panceova Hungary in 1888.It is not known what port in N.Y. or N.J. where they arrived. Upon arriving in America the couple moved to New Haven, Ct. where George was immediately employed by the "Farnam" family at their farm and slaughterhouse. Several years later George went into the landscape business known as "Westville Nurseries". George and Elizabeth had 14 children, 7 boys and 7 girls. (Stephen, George, Jr., Victor, Leslie, Alexander, Joseph and William.) (Elizabeth, Julia, Irene, Margaret, Rose, Alice and Catherine "June".)Six of the seven brothers served in the U.S. Army, 4 at once in WW-II. Joseph is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
