The Szymanski Family of Maryland

Updated July 19, 2001

About Our Family Research

I've just begun to research the Szymanski family name. The family as I know it has its roots around the Baltimore area. My Grand- parents came from Poland around the turn of the century. My Grandfather arrived before my Grandmother. My research at this time is attempting to identify his arrival. My grandmother appears to have arrived about 1912. I grew up knowing her as Grandmom Bush/Busha. Her first name was spelled Jannia according to records. It seems the spelling was in error or eventually it was changed to Jennie. Several documents indicate her age differs by a couple of years. Other documents show a different birthdate. My aunt claims her age was increased by a couple of years to gain entry into the U.S. Records indicate her final destination was South Bend, Ind. where her father was living for a period of time (possibly between 1901-08). As to confirmation for my Grandmother's information, I am 100% convinced I have identified her parents, my Great Grandparents.

Any family member, distant relative, friends or any person having information on the Surnames Szymanski/Wozniewicz/Lesinska or Lesinski please e-mail me. We can share information about our great family.
