My research has really just begun. There is little known about my family's past. See, my maternal grandfather was adopted and I am very interested in learning the lineage of his biological parents. So far, I only have his mother's lineage, dating back to 1762. There are a few holes and a few questions that I have regarding the information that I currently have. His biological line originates in Denmark, in Krempe, or Schleswig-Holstein, and there are some relatives from Copenhagen. It is rumored that King Frederick the V or VII is my 5th great-grandfather. According to the story that I have, it is going to be nearly impossible to prove.
My 5th Great Grandfather was Andreas Ingwersen. He was born September 25th, 1762 in Bargum Village in Denmark. He was employed as the local sheriff of Krempe, Holstein. He married my 5th Great Grandmother Anna Else Peterman (date unknown). She was born May 28th, 1769 in Parish of Sct Petri, Copenhagen, Denmark. Andreas died in 1802 in Denmark and Anna died in 1812 in Denmark. Anna's parents were Melschoir Heinrich Pettermann who was employed as the deputy fire marshall and master brick layer, and her mother was Anna Augustine Justina Jansen who died December 7th, 1792. Andreas and Anna had 3 children, Wilhelm Ludwig Ingwersen, Elise Henriette Wilhelmine Ingwersen, and my 4th Great Grandfather Friederich Emmerich Ingwersen.
My 4th Great-Grandfather Friederich Emmerich Ingwersen was born in January of 1794 in Krempe or Schleswig-Holstien, Denmark, or Flensburg, Germany and was employed as a business man and a baker. He married my 4th Great Grandmother between 1817 and 1818 and he died April 8th, 1865 in Scandinavia, Wisconsin. My 4th Great Grandmother was Mary Maria Henrietta Christina von Bulow (or von Belhoff). She is rumored to be the daughter of King Frederick V or VII. If this rumor holds true, then the story is that she fell in love with a commoner (my 4th great-grandfather) and the king would not give his blessing and when she ran off to marry him the king disowned her and ordered his servants to destroy all evidence of her existence. Anyway, she was born in 1799 in Germany. Her parents are listed as Carl Ludwig Bulow and Anna Cicilia Thrau. Mary Maria died between 1860-1865 in Benson Corner or Scandinavia, Wisconsin. Together they had 9 children.
