THADDEUS MORRILL STEVENS, INDIANAPOLIS - CLOYE STEVENS

Updated June 6, 2004

About Our Family Research

Looking for the connection from famous Congressman Thaddeus Stevens (1792-1868) to my grandmother, Cloye Stevens (b 1850(?) d late 1926 early 1927).

Think the connection may be through Thaddeus Steven's nephew, Thaddeus Morrill Stevens (1829 1885), Marion County, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Thadeus Morrill Stevens was Professor of Medical Jurisprudence & Toxology at Indiana Medical College.

He married Ella, and they had two children (perhaps more): THADDEUS J. (age 10) and Arie L. (age 8) in the 1880 Federal Census of Indiana, in Marion County, Indianapolis, Roll 296, p. 549C. Thaddeus Morrill Stevens is shown at 51 years of age in this Census.

NEED INFORMATION ABOUT HIS TWO CHILDREN, THADDEUS J. AND ARIE L., and THEIR wives/children.

Need to document connection to my grandmother - Cloye Stevens (1874-5 - 1926-7) died in Pittsburgh, PA. Cloye married Edwin Frances Moriarty in Albany, NY, they then went to Pittsburgh, PA.

Cloye's family was all from Marion County, Indiana as is Thaddeus Morrill Stevens, etc.

Information so far:
