I have been reserching my family geneology for a year now with moderate sucsses.My grandmother was very interested in the family history as well,and although she died in 1965 she wrote a letter in witch was contained alot of information.The family name Thackway seems to have stemed from Herefordshire,my research goes back to a Walter Thackway from St Peters Hereford,he aparantly had the freedom of the city which should be pasted down from eldest surviving son to eldest surviving son.He was born around 1650 aprox.The family then seem to arive in LONDON in the 1800's which is where my father was born.There are not many Thackway's with that spelling which is all the easyer for me in my reserch.Any information about the family or anyone else with that name i would be most grateful and interested to hear from.
