My Genealogy Report

I am glad to write genealogy report about my family background. While writing this, I have been introduced to so many facts, which I had not noticed when I was in my country. Being an international student it’s a great pleasure for me to introduce my country and my family heritage.
Nepal is a topographically diversified kingdom comprising 147,181 square kilometers of land. Located between India and China, it features three distinct regions: snow-capped, towering Himalayan peaks in the north; mountains and hills in the center; and agriculturally fertile flatlands (Terai) in the south. It is one of the most attractive destinations for adventure seekers. The Himalayan peaks of Nepal are world famous. Mt. Everest, which is the tallest mountain of the world, is located in the northern part of Nepal. Nepal is climate wise very diverse as dense and dark rainy forest inhabits some of the world’s most endangered species such as rhinos and Bengal tigers.
Nepal has a rich culture and heritage. It is one of the countries in which family values means a great deal. It is the only Hindu Kingdom in the world. Aryans migrated from Central Europe and settled in the very fertile Indus Valley. Aryans were very clever. They implemented division of labor in their society. The cleverest members of society were selected and given the task to teach others. The bravest people were selected and given the task to protect society. The dullest types of individuals who were able to tolerate a heavy workload were selected and given the task of supplying labor to others whenever needed. The rest of the people of the society were given the tasks to grow food, produce materials, trade, and supply the goods to others. The protectors of society were called "Chetris". Chetris are created from the arms of Brahma to symbolize warriors. My ancestor and I belong to Chetri Lineage. My paternal side is “Thapa”.
My Grand father Ritu Bikram Thapa was the great political leader. He had contributed a lot of time and money during the civil war for the sake of country. He didn’t give much time for his family and spend the major part of his life serving for country. Not for earning name or fame but, during panchayat1 system Ranas were ruling Nepal. They were making hard for people by introducing new law which will benefits them rather than for public. No one was allowed to go to school except Ranas and their friends. Every one should pay tax; not for public but for Ranas. All these stuff made my grandfather so mad and he was the one of the leader to ask for justice and rebelled Ranas. He was in the top list as the anti- Ranas and he went to jail for several times in the name of democracy. Actually my great grandfather was businessman and he was a big shot in the country. And he had left a lot of property in the name of my grandfather. However, my grandfather used half of his property for the children and other half was for the country. Since, he had large sum of money Ranas tried their best to have my grandfather with them but my grandfather didn’t gave any support so he was in their hit list. So, Ranas made a trap for my grandfather and they blamed him for rebelling against the welfare of country. They put him in the jail for five to six months and didn’t let anyone to meet him not even his wife my grandmother Mrs. Kamala Thapa. He died inside the jail.
My grandmother she had to deal with everything after my grandfather. She is great lady and still lives with us. She always believed in democracy and freedom. So she also helped my grandfather during the panchayat system. All the rules were made by ranas for the sake of rana’s benefit. Although she didn’t go to school she made my father and uncle to go to school and guided them to be educated. She had blood of Chetri so she was not scared of anyone. She would protest with anyone if she thinks it is wrong. My maternal side is also Chetri but they have different last name
