I was born in Marvin, SD on Dec 12, 1937. I was reared and schooled in the Marvin/Summit area, lived on the farm and moving to the town of Summit in the mid to late 40's. Joined the USAF on Sep 22, 1955 and retired from the USAF on Jun 1, 1979. Moved to Austin, TX on my retirement date where my domicile was located, during which time I went to Tarrant County Junior College in Ft. Worth, TX, where I graduated with an Associates Degree in Non-Destructive Evaluation, in May 1981.

The first part of June 1981, I was hired by Bechtel Construction Co. out of San Francisco, CA to work on nuclear power plant construction at Richland, WA, on units 1 and 4. Construction ceased on these two plants in June of 1982, whereas I moved to Amarillo, TX to work for my brother-in-law Kenneth Casteel designing fire protection systems for new construction.
