The Riebers were originally from germany, according to 1920 census Wurrtemburg Germany. They later moved to Switzerland and my greatgrandmother was from there. Mary Josephine Birrer.
Pius [my ggrandfather and Josephine came to the States in 1880 and 1881. They purchased land in Casey Counry Kentucky with another friend and named the the land Rheber,probably from Rieber and the other guy's name was Ruhl. Life proved too difficult in the country so they pulled up roots again and moved to the big city, Louisville,Kentucky, where they remained and raised their family until their death.
