Result of research into my wife's and my roots in Sri Lanka. Connecting families from Tellupalai, Kokuvil, Mallakam, Kantherodai on my side and Analativu, Pungudutivu, Chulipuram and other locations in Jaffna. It is based on data collected on my travels as well as interviews with lots of realtives.
Due to the problems in Sri Lanka most of the people from Jaffna, where my ancestors originated, have migrated and are now scattered all over the globe. This, together with our naming system (no surname to carry down)and the fact that we do not have have written records or even gravestones (we cremate)makes research very difficult. Our history is an oral tradition that is fast dying out with most people dislocated from their roots (and hence sources of information).
