Our maternal and paternal roots are divided by the great Mississippi River here in New Orleans. The Theriot side (paternal) is from the East Bank of the river and the Jones side (maternal) is from the West Bank. This division has been around for atleast two generations and continues for the most part today. The Theriot's have not been as close historically as the Jones's, but even the Jones's have drifted further apart in the present generation, than the previous one. In a quest to discover as much information as we can about our family's heritage and geneology, we will endeavor to research the past.
