| THE PHOENIX This mythical bird is the alchemical symbol of rebirth through fire. The phoenix, sometimes known as the fire bird, sets itself on fire every 100 years, dies in the flames, and then rises again from the ashes. In medieval legend, the phoenix lives in ARABIA but flies to EGYPT, the home of alchemy, to undergo its ritual death and regeneration. Here it cradles the all-powerful elements of fire and water under its wings. La Tour d'Auvergne is the name of my FRENCH FAMILY, orginally from the village of LA TOUR in AUVERGNE, dating from 10th century; it divided into several branches, including COUNTS OF AUVERGNE, DUKES OF BOUILLON and AL'BERT', and VISCOUNTS OF TURENNE; see BOUILLON and TURENNE. Madeleine de La Tour d'Auvergne (d. 1519) married Lorenzo de' Medici, DUKE OF URBINO; mother of QUEEN Catherine de Medicis, who married Henri II de Valois, later Henri II King of France. AVALANCHE KILLS 10 NEAR FRANCE RESORT FEB. 11, 1999 AT LEAST TWO (2) PEOPLE WERE STILL MISSING A DAY AFTER THE AVALANCHES ROARED DOWN A MOUNTAINSIDE BETWEEN THE ALPINE VILLAGES OF LE TOUR AND MONTROC-LE PLANET. There was one of these ACADIAN FAMILIES, about whose PROTESTANT ANTECEDENTS there can be no question, and which was destined to take a prominent part in the history of the colony. Its founder was Claude de St. Etienne, sieur de La Tour. He is said to have been allied to the NOBLE HOUSE OF BOUILLON. About the year 1609 he came, a widower, with his son Charles de St. Etienne, sieur de La Tour, then a boy of 14, to PORT ROYAL, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA, for purposes of trade, having lost the greater part of his estates in the CIVIL WARS. THE LA TOUR OR LA TOURETTE HOUSE: THE STAATS HOUSE at SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NEW JERSEY, later known as THE LA TOURETTE HOUSE. The center section was built prior to 1690. The house was HEADQUARTERS for GENERAL Frederick von Steuben, WASHINGTON'S INSPECTOR GENERAL, during the MIDDLEBROOK ENCAMPMENT. ROYALTY THE INSTITUTION OF ROYALTY is highly symbolic. Many Asian Courts were laid out as microcosms of the universe, with the throne,at the center of the palace, representing the sacred mountain at the axis of the world. A KING has four CHIEF QUEENS and four CHIEF MINISTERS, symbolizing NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, and WEST. The KING is the ultimate symbol of power. Traditionaly the MONARCH is surrounded by COURTIERS, who had the same function as HEAVENLY BEINGS surrounding GOD. He is thus seen by his subjects as an EARTHLY counterpart of GOD and a symbolic link between HEAVELY and EARTHLY power |
