Bucknell Family In Maine George Bucknell was Born in 1839 and died Jan 14 1907 He was Married to Valeria Brooks Who was the Daughter of Silas and Hannah Gentleman Brooks They Bought a Farm on Scarbro Road In Freedom N.H. On April 1885 when Elwin Was 2 Years old and fred was 2 months old after her husbands death valeria carried on the farm work and took in boards during the summer to support herself She was borned in 1861 died in 1938. Elwin went to work in fort wayne Indian in a meat packing plant. He died of pneumonia at the age of 28 Elwin never Married. Fred Attended Parsonsfield Seminary, His Transport was a bicycle on feb 25 1906 at the age of 21 he married Mable Judkins Daughter of Charles and rose Ida Judkins Mable was 17. Five Children was born to them in 6 years the next one four years later and the last one was 14 years later 6 of the children was born in N.H. one was Born in Maine. They Lived in several towns in freedom N.H.area where ever work was available. Finally Purchasing the farm Adjoining His mother and the family lived. in 1921 he bought a farm in Hiram Me. for the sum 3500.00Just before they a 1914 Ford which Mable learned to drive just in time to make the trip to Maine. Fred and uncle Frank Brooks Drove the a Truck carrying the furniture while George and Arthur drove a horse and wagon carring the piano Fred and the boys took turns walking with the live stock.this was May and Arthur was in 8th grade, he was able to return to freedom and graduate from that grade with his class and entered High school in cornish in the fall.the other children were registered in the grade school in cornish in may
