Duane again provided the entertainment in the evening, with an accompaniment from Sara on her clarinet for a couple of tunes.

Celebrating 90 Years in the United States.

People talking, Cameras flashing, Toes a tapping, Smiles abounding.

The gathering of the Tickals to celebrate 90 years in the United States started early and continued late. Thanks to Duane Pichelman, Cathy Baltunis's husband for the lively polka music on his accordion. Kudos to the newest to be member, Curt for his bawdy renditions of some old favorites. He married Louie's youngest daughter, Patty in July.

Some of the out of towners gathered at the Fairfield Inn on Friday night. New faces were introduced and the kids cooled off in the pool after the long drives.

We came from far and wide. Every surviving branch of the family was represented excepted Gerald.

The day was hot and the breeze gentle as voices and laughter floated through the park. The pivo was flowing. If you don't know what pivo is; its time to get in touch with your heritage.

The Mary Barcus Family descendants won the family treasure hunt.
Kathleen McCourt identified the most ancestors in the Photo Guess.

A brief meeting was held to determine the future of the gathering of the family. It was decided that the next reunion will be in June, 2001 In Mason City, Iowa. The organizing committee will be Mike Tickal, Kathy McCourt, and Dick Tickal.
A tentative plan was to have the following reunion in January, 2003 at Orlando, Florida. Hello, Gerald and Josephine's descendants.

A fund has been started to refurbish the grave of Katherine Tickal who died in 1916. A family history book " Time Tickaling through the Years" is available for $20 plus $2 postage. $5 of the purchase price is contributed toward the grave stone fund. The fund has $75 currently. Purchase a book and make a donation.
