I have just begun the reseach on the Tiernan, Hooper, Mooney, Carroll family of New York City. From the existing records in my possession it is apparent that many of the early arrivals from Ireland came from County Cork in the 1850 era. A I have the burial records from Calvery Cemetary on Queens NY that show about 20 burials in two plots. I have visited the cemetary. I am particularly interested in any infomation on Patrick Tiernan. I have no infomation on his Irish ancestry. I have been told that his family came to the USA by way of Dublin in the mid 1850's but that is all that I have. I shall go back to Ireland in March and journey to Cork as I know from several Death Certificates that Hester Mooney and John Carroll were born in Cork in the 1820 to 1840 era.Yhey were married in Ireland and migrated to the USA. I hope to begin a search on my search on my mother's side (Dorothy May Wallace) as soon as practical.
