I have been trying to find out about my family history, it has not been very easy - I guess everyone has the same problem. My mother was born in Camden, NJ to Joseph Wright Cannon and Louise (Earl), my grandmother was from Wrightstown/Pemberton, NJ. I don't know my great-grandmother's name (my mom called her Annie Earl), I don't know my great-grandfather's name either. I really don't know much about my grandfather's side of the family for the exception of my mom's grandfather Joe that walked out of the house one day and never returned. They traced him as far as Washington, DC, they always thought he was in politics. I never heard anymore about it. My mom's relatives names that I can remember were: Aunt Kiz, Uncle Harold and Annie Earl, she had 2 cousins named Harold and Edgar. My mom's grandfather owned the land that Fort Dix was built on in Wrightstown. I also know that my mother's great-grandmother was a Cherokee Indian.
After my grandmother Louise died, my grandfathr remarried a lady named Ruth, he had 3 other children, Joe, Shirley and Ed. I am not sure but I was told that either Joe or Ed passed away about 6 years or better ago. Joe live in North Jersey and was a prison guard, he married a girl from there named Peggy and they had 2 children - David, I can't remember the girl's name. Eddie married a girl from NJ named Lois and had 2 children, Eddie, Jr., can't remember the second child's name. I reallyn don't much about Shirley.
My grandfather passed away and is buried at Harley Cemetery (in New Jersey) so is either Joe or Eddie.
My dad's family - my grandfather Harry Rubin Poore, Bertha Naomi Poore (Umstead) and he had a brother Henry and sister Catherine (abbott) they lived in Camden, NJ. My grandmother lived in Germantown, PA. My grandfather owned a paint store in Collingswood, NJ My Uncle Henry died in a hospital in PA.
I have an older sister, Elizabeth Louise Bubien, my brother Walter J. Poore passed away Aug. 1999 in FL.
I only hope that I will be able to find some of my ancestors with further searches.
