THE ASHER FAMILY REUNION TAKES PLACE EITHER THE LAST WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER OR THE FIRST WEEKEND OF OCTOBER EVERY YEAR IN SOUTHERN KENTUCKY IN THE AREA WHERE IT ALL BEGAN. USUALLY A NOTICE WILL BE SENT OUT TO NOTIFY EVERYONE OF IT'S DATE EACH YEAR. DILLION ASHER IS AT THE BINGINING OF THIS FAMILY THAT STARTED IN BELL CO., KY. HE WAS THE FIRST TOLL GATE KEEPER OF THE "CUMBERLAND GAP", THE ONLY TRAIL INTO KY. FROM TN.. HE AND SOME OF HIS RELATIVES WERE SOME OF THE FIRST ORIGINAL "LONG HUNTERS", AT THAT TIME THE INDIANS DIDN'T LIVE IN KENTUCKY BUT IT WAS INDIAN HUNTING GROUNDS. ENG., VA., TN., KY..
