The Lakauskas Family Tree

Updated November 9, 2000

About Our Family Research

The history begins with Grandma (Mary Cwilikas) traveling by boat to America in 1913. After landing at Ellis Island, she went to Scranton, PA and worked in the silk mills. After meeting Beni Liekauskas, a miner, they married and moved to Sugar Notch, PA Close to a century later, the descendants are making every effort to locate relatives in America or from Lithuania. Perhaps there are brothers and sisters of Cazmir and Mary in America.
The genealogy search also includes Mary's father, Cazmir Cwilikas. Mary's mother, Marcella, passed away when she was a young girl. Afterwards, Cazmir married a woman by the last name of Drumsta. We surmise that the second wife's family also came to America. It has also been reported that Cazmir himself came to America to work in the mines.
