**NEWS** On Friday May 11, 2001 I became a father for the third time. Rockwell Oscar Timmerman was born 8 pounds 7 onces and 20 inches long. Both mother and baby are fine. ********
Recent trips to the Cedarburg Historical Society have proved very fruitful. I have managed to trace my ancestors to Johann Heinrich Timmermann (AKA Henry Sr.)who immigrated to Cedarburg in 1862 from Schmeier-Aussenteich Oldenburg Germany with his new wife Adeline (Henrike) Wurthmann. My theory is they came to meet Henry Wurthmann (her brother?) who came to the area 2 years earlier.
Henry Timmermann was known as a mason and as one of the founders of the Cedarburg Fire Department. He was honored when he died by being buried in full uniform and his barrers where department members.
Here is where I am stuck. Henry Timmermann was the son of Johann Timmermann and Margeret Rohde in Oldenburg. I dont have any other information. Can anyone help?
I also am not sure about the name Oldenburg. It could be a city, which still exists, or it could be a "state" that I have seen on maps from the period. What does Schmeier-Aussenteich mean? Can anyone help?
Feel free to contact me anytime. Joel
