The Tincher Project
Welcome to The Tincher Project, a website devoted to the confusing, aggravating, sometimes painful art of geneology. Some people may call it family trees while others say family roots. Some people do this as a hobby, some as a profession, and others as a curiosity. I started my researching over 15 years ago as a school project. The requirement was to research and draw a family tree, showing only 4 generations..... Now I have been able to trace one line back about 55 generations. Genealogy is not an art for the type of person who does not like to receive help and communicate with other people, whether it is someone they have known all their lives or someone that they have learned has new information for them. Most of my research has come from other people, both individuals in my own family and peolple through the Internet websites that I have literally tripped over as I have spent many late nights looking for that site that would tell me who I was. Enough about me... The reason for this website is to hopefuly assist everyone out there to find out who they are. Are you the descendant of a President of the United States, or maybe of the Royal Family of the United Kingdom, or maybe just the family next door is your 5 cousins, twice removed. The only way to find out is to ask and learn. My first piece of information I have for you is to listen.... To the stories that your parents have about their growing up, or grandparents telling the stories they have about their parents, or anything that has to do with your past. My reason for this piece of information is because they will not always be there. A lot of my family history was already lost before I caught the 'genealogy bug'. And more has been lost since I started. Time does not and will not stand still, so you must start now and don't give up, no matter how useless it seems. You never know when that vital piece of information will slip through the cracks, never to be spoken again. If this site helps you in any way, please contact me and let me know. I will continue to add sites to my pages as I come across them, and if you find one, please let me know, I will add it to my links also. Please bookmark this page and use it as a reference tool. And if you want to help in the Tincher Project, just give me a shout.
