Lucka (pronounce Loochka) is located in Slovakia, but the inhabitants are nativ Hungarians, as my family too. Formerly it was a part of Hungary (until 1918) and was called Lucska. There are four villages in Slovakia called that name, the Lucka of my family is in the South-Eastern part of Slovakia, in district of Roznava.
The surname Tisza was very common in Lucka, therefore nicknames were used to distinguish between the families. My Tisza family was called "Josko" (pronounce Yoshko).
According to the existing parish records the earliest known ancestor of our family is Jozsef Tisza Sr. born in Lucka in 1772. The descendants of Janos (John) Tisza b.1889 and some of the descendants of Istvan (Stefan) Tisza b.1877 now are living in the USA. The other branches of the family (even mine) are still living in Slovakia.
Please, feel free to contact me, if you are interesting about a possible relation to the Tisza family or Lucska. In some years I am planning to organise a reunion of the family in our ancestral village.
