I was born in Belfast and I am trying to get my family tree sorted out but I am having a lot of difficulty with my Grandfather and Grandmother who was born in Co Monaghan. I know where he was born (have "Griffith's Valuation of 1858)but I can not get his birth certificate. I can get his death certificate.
My Grandmother, know the house where she was born and I the date death cerificate.
I tried for about three months now on the Internet trying to get my grandfather birth, but I can not find anything about him.
I was in Ireland in October and still get not get much. The only think I get was a copy of a sheet of the Griffith's Valuation of 1858.
There in no one left that I can ask - grandfather was born in 1859 and grandmother born in 1872. They has only two survivors of 8 children. This was my mother and my uncle. Both are dead now but my mother told me alot about the family.
If any of you could help with this, I would be much grateful.
