....TOHOVAKA Palaone Palelagi Limatao, One of the 150 young Niuean troop and he'z the youngest troop at the age of 16 who went to the Great World War 1, 1914 - 1918. Niue Military History, reg 16/1170. Rank PTE of Makefu, Niue Island.
He was Born 1898, Lotofonu (Street), Makefu, Niue Island. Married to Gasisitama(nee) with 10 children. In 1927; Government Employee as Village Constable, 1935; Police Caretaker for Northern Villages of the Island and a Senior Police Officer to overseeing all Village Constables on the Island,
Elder Statesment/Deacon of the local LMS Church in our village Makefu. 1941; Awarded with a Medal of Merit in the Police Force, 1944; Appointed Senior Sergent, 1953; Represent Niue amongest the Regional Pacific Leaders to meet QUEEN Elizabeth II in Wellington. He was assisted by Malama Head as the Niue delegation. He was also awarded the Empire British Medal (EBM).
1965; retired after early 40 years service to the Niue Government. He died in 1966 at the age of 68.
