I have been researching my family history for about 10 years now. I have researched my paternal father's (Winkler) line back to the 1700s. His maternal line is causing me some hassels, but I will not let it beat me. My mother's line is in much the same state, e.g. father back to 1700s and mothers line ?????
I organised a reunion and compiled a book on the Winklers back in 1998. It was very succesful. Genealogy facinates me, I would so it all day every day, if I could, but time (and husbands) do not allow.
I have also researched my husband's line which is very interesting. His GGGGrandfather was a soldier in the "Red Coats" he came to Australia in 1797. From research all Tollis's in Australia are decended from him, as far as we can assertain.
