| We are currently researching the following lines: BELL, BURGER, BOND(S), CAUDLE, AND TOLAND. Regarding the TOLAND generation report, you may notice that the children of Rebecca TOLAND and Cyrenus FITCH have the last name TOLAND. This is because at some point their children decided to take their mother's maiden name. Also, I know from family letters that the oldest son "John C." changed his name in 1864 to "John T. Toland" in honor of his deceased Uncle. He later changed his name again to "Frank J. Toland" and this is the branch from which my family is descended. The information on THOMAS JEFFERSON BROWN AND SAMANTHA (BATTLES) BROWN has been furnished by Evelyn Decker Wester of Geraldine, Alabama. I cannot claim ANY credit for the research of these particular descendants. She is graciously allowing me to post the results of her research on this page.
