The Neeley Moore family of Concord, North Carolina

Updated October 27, 2004

About Our Family Research

Neeley Moore married Cecily (Waddell) Howard in Concord, N.C. on 12-8-1903. Witnesses were Isaac and Adaline Moore (his parents ?) and Isaac Waddell (Cecily's father)

Neeley was born in 1857 In North Carolina. He was married prior to this marriage to Anna and they had a daughter, Hattie. They may have had more children. Anna died in about 1895.

Cecily married a Mr. Howard and they had three children; Cyril, Bettie and Charles. Mr. Howard died (year unknown) leaving a young widow with three children.

After Neeley and Cecily married they had two sons, Branch Franklin Moore (known as Pat) and Guilford James Moore (known as Gip or Tip). Guilford was my father.

Neeley died about 1915 but I have been unable to find any information about his death or where he is buried.

Cecily married a third time to L. W. Malcolm. They had no children. Mr. Malcolm died leaving Cecily a widow for the third time. Cecily never married again and lived to the ripe old age of 82. She died November 29, 1958 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetary in Concord, N.C.

My ancestors on the Waddell side include the James T. Martin family of North Carolina.

I am interested in any information about my ancestors and their descendants living or dead.
