Researching the MOORE/WADDELL Family connection in Concord, Cabarrus Co., North Carolina.
The 1910 U. S. Census shows my grandparents, *Nealy MOORE and Cecilie (WADDELL) MOORE living on Vance St. with 2 male children, Branch "Pat" Franklin MOORE (my uncle) and James "Tip" Guilford MOORE (my father). Other relatives living in the household were Cyril J. HOWARD, Bettie J. HOWARD, and Charlie, I. HOWARD (step-children to Nealy). My Grandmother, Cecilie was married previously to a Mr. HOWARD and they had 3 children (names above).
Neely MOORE may have been married previously also. In the 1900 Census for Cabarrus County, NC he is listed as a widower.
There is also information showing a Mrs. Neely MOORE buried May 14, 1895 in Oakwood Cemetary in Concord. Is this Neely's first wife? Were there children?
After my grandfather (Nealy) died, my grandmother married a Mr. L. W. Malcolm. As far as I know they did not have children. Mr. Malcolm preceded my grandmother in death.
My Uncle "Pat" (Branch MOORE) married Esther (maiden name unknown) and they had 3 daughters, Patsy Ann, Judy Gail and Phoebe Jean. I was told that Pat co-owned the Whitmore Drug Store in Concord.
My father (Guilford) joined the Navy at age 17 and served in the military for many years.
Any leads to anyone living or dead in either the MOORE line or the WADDELL line would be greatly appreciated.
* I have seen many different spellings of Nealy's name, Neely, Niely, etc.
