I have recently been researching my family history and found my family originally came from the Black Country, on the south side of Birmingham. They came to Barrow in Furness as economic migrants, to find work and stability.
They arrived here just as the town growth was at it's greatest, expanding it's size from a small hamlet called Hindpool, the place I was born into the town it now is. With the growth, industry also exploded with Vickers Maxim, Shipbuilders, Barrow Steel and the Hemaetite iron ore mining creating the most available and largest job markets.
So from the 1700 until the present day my branch of the family settled and grew. And grow they did, through my research I reckon just about every indiginous family is related.
You can read more about them at my web sites; http://davidtuckerhome.co.uk there you will find the links to my 2nd & 3rd site. On the pages you will find all the kin I have found and my pedigree, with various pictures of my folk, and the beautiful area that I live in. For anyone that has not seen Low Furness and The English Lakes, these sites will give you some idea of the splendour on my doorstep.
