I have relatives who have done family research, and to them I owe my gratitude for all the documentation I have. The geneaology bug is beginning to bite, and I would like to begin constructing a family tree to satisfy my own curiosity and also to be able to show my children. Starting with my paternal grandfather, here is the story as I heard it: Percy Howard Litchfield was born in Tracy, California, in 1884, to Chauncey Howard Litchfield and Belle Latta Litchfield. He was the oldest of their children. Belle and Percy were sensitive to the tule fogs of the San Joaquin Valley, and the family moved to Watsonville in 1888 and bought land out in Green Valley where they farmed apples. Percy married Lyllyan Bradley (year?) and lived on the family ranch, continuing to farm. They had four children: Thelma, John, b. April 10, 1912 (my father), Lois, and Vivian (Chick). I will have to find my genealogical materials to find birthdates for all. Thelma married Ray Thorne. They had two sons, James and Roger. John married Juanita Sheffield (b. Feb. 14, 1915 in Corsicana, Texas), June 20, 1941, and they had two children, a son, Allen Howard, b. Nov. 3, 1943 San Antonio, TX, and a daughter, Mary Susan, b. May 26, 1948, Watsonville, CA. Lois married ? Douglas? and had one daughter, Michael, b? where? Vivian (Chick) married Arthur Gehrkens and had two daughters, Charlotte b. Jan. 1, 1944, and Nancy Elizabeth, b. August 28, 1947.
