My name is John Tully. I was born in 1946, both of my parents were in the US Army Air Corps during WW11. I was born in Watertown, NY, the place where my mothers parents lived. As was common at the time, before relocating to a permanent residence, folks usually stayed and lived with relatives. My parents finally moved to the Albany area and lived with my fathers parents for a while until they could afford to build a house. They built in the West Albany-Loudonville area of the city of Albany, NY and raised thier family. I am the oldest of eight children. My fathers, mother and father came from Roscommon, Ireland in the early 1900's, so there was a very strong Irish-Catholic influence. My mothers family mostly came from Northern New York the Watertown, Lowville, Croghan, Belfort, Kircherville area. Her fathers great grandfather a native of Boulay, France, emigrated about 1843. Her mothers grandfather came from Gatenau, Quebec, Canada. I have lived the remainder of my life in the Capital District of New York, going to the Albany area schools. I have three daughters and Five grandchildren. I am retired from the State of New York as an Investigator, with the State Police. Over the years I have had a very strong desire to go back to my roots and find my ancestors, so for the last couple of years, I have been compiling scraps of information on many of my family members, in the hopes of some day putting it all together for all to enjoy. I greatly appreciate the help of siblings, uncles, aunts and cousins who have contributed to this endeavor and I welcome any and all suggestions, criticism, and new information that anyone has, so please send me any old family memorabelia, especially, pictures. I will add them to the story. I will be up-dating this web page periodically and look forward to your input.
