Nellie Joan Oiesen (daughter of James Frederick Oiesen and Akwai Yang) was born 31 August 1889 in Shanghai, China. poss Hong Kong., and died 7 May 1976 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She married Arthur James Tullis on 30 March 1928 in Vancouver, British Columbia., son of Alexander Yooll Tullis and Christina Ross Mackenzie.

Nellie Joan Oiesen, Born, Shanghia or Hong Kong. Father Danish and mother Akwai Yang. Father top dog in Chinese Customs as well as being Danish Ambassador to Korea. Seems NJ was also quite a cookie. Gave Arthur a hard time it seems. More later.

Don't know very much about her but appears to be half Danish, half Chinese. Born either in Hong Kong or Shanghai. Her father was a Frederick Oeisen and her mothers name on her marriage certificate is indecipherable {think that's wrong}
