John Tullis and Isabel Cragie. Not sure if he's are ours but it seems a better than average chance. Their son, James was born in 1785 as was our James. This couple would have been my 4th great grandfather and grandmother.

The other couple I checked out were Robert Tullis and Helen Millar who also had a son James , 1785. I have now discarded this line of inquiry as I couldn't find a satisfactory link.
