An extensive search of the Turman family,decendants of George Turman (1728-1805) and Elizabeth Higgenbotham (1728-aft 1805). Son Garrett Turman Sr,1765-bef 1805 and Mary Giles. It is a complex genealogy, created by events of the civil war, and deaths and second marriages. This resulted in links to Sullivans; Martins,Turman and Overbey,plus some families still under review. Most names and dates are proven. Some connection to each may not be completly clear, but work continues. The family research was started by Elbert Turman and a cousin. Since the death of Elbert, his son Alfred G. Turman and his daughter, Alpha Lee Spafford, with inputs from many realives, have continued the search.
