About Our Family Research

Dear Tutterrow & Tutterow Family,

I am looking for the relatives of John Balser Tutterrow the son of Thomas Andrew Tutterrow, Kingston Tennessee.

As the story was told to me..."In the 1700's, two brothers immigrated to the United States and disembarked in North Carolina. They did not speak or write English so an interpretor spelled their last name the way the brothers pronounced it... which was not how it was originately spelled in the Old Country. Throughout their lives the brothers continued to use this new spelling of their last names. One brother eventually settled in Tennessee and spelled his name TUTTERROW(rr). The other brother remained in North Carolina and spelled his name TUTTEROW(r)."

Does anybody know what country we originated from and what the correct spelling of our name is?

I look forward to hearing from you and exchanging family information.

Barbara Tutterrow
