I have been trying to gather information about the Uehlein (paternal) and Raider (Raeder)(maternal) family history. I know my great grandfather, Julius Uehlein. He arrived in the United States in 1878. He came from Baden, Germany. He was born in 1851. He bought a farm in Paulding County, Ohio and was naturalized in 1891. He married his next door neighbor, Margaret Schuller. After moving a few times, once to Alabama, he settled in Lorain, Ohio. His children's names were: Marion Elizabeth (Eiden), Julia (Schmitz), Celia (Gruelick, Sophina (Schon-Ludeman), Lawrence (my grandfather), Bernard, William, Edward, and Leo. Julius and Margaret were married in St. Alphonsus Church in Peru, Ohio in 1879. I have no idea if Julius had any brothers or sisters or who his parents were. Margaret (Schuller) Uehlein siblings were Lucille (Barnes), Frances (Seabold), Mary (Greulick), Elizabeth (Strmple), Joe Schuller, and John Schuller. Lawrence married Bertha Limpack. Her parents were Theodore and Sybil. Lawrence and Bertha had five children, Geraldine (Cendrosky), Robert, Harold, Leroy (my dad), and Elizabeth(Rounds). Leroy married Caroline (Raider). Her parents were John and Susan (Repko) John's parents were John and Anna (Brownstetter). They had four children, Caroline (Berry), John, Joseph, and Edward. Susan's parents were John and Mathilda (Lovas) Repko. Their children were Susan, Stephen, Michael, Stella, Agnas, and Paul. They were from Hungary and the Raider's were from Germany. The name Raider may have been Raeder originally. Leroy Uehlein, my father, had three children, Lynda, Wayne and Ronald.
