My family came up from Kentucky in the mid 1800's by covered wagon. They were in a group that included family names of Underwood, Hook, Jines, Waugh and Aydt. They settled in Hamilton County Illinois. Many of the cemeteries there have those names and many of The Underwood Families of America show some of those same names mixed in marriages. From what I have gathered so far my family tree of the Underwood family goes back to the British Isles. In the U.S. it is in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and now the families are spread throughout the U.S. from border to border and coast to coast.
