My father-in-law was John Leonard Uphold, born in Muncie, IN, in 1893. His parents were Benjamin F. Uphold and Ellen K. Moyer-Uphold. John was the 8th child.
Benjamin was born in Ohio about 1855. Ellen was born in IN about 1856.
Known siblings are, Joseph, Henry, George, William Alanzo "Lon", born in Dansville, IL, 11 Oct 1886, and Rebecca "Beck".
John was a kind and gentle man. He lived in Mt Pleasant, MI, Isabella Co.. John passed away in 1961.
John married Helen Bernice Offill. One son, Donald Lee Uphold and Marlene Yvonne "Sally" Uphold.
John had dear friends in the Lewis family. I believe they were from the Flint area.
Uphold families also lived in the Waters, MI and Fredric MI, areas.
I know there are family connections with: O'Kelly; DeMoines: and Kemp.
My husband, "Don" was born in Mt. Pleasant MI and passed away 20 May 1999 in Mt Pleasant.
We had three children, Donald Lee "Lee" Jr,Russell Leonard and Carlene Louise (deceased 2004).
At one time we were in touch with Roy and Sandy Uphold of Chicago. IL, but lost touch.
