The Urban Family of Buddy R. Urban Originated in the early 1840's in the area around Lexington , AL and Lawrence County TN. Buddy was born in Lawrenceburg, TN. on Dec. 16, 1934 In a small house on the outskirts of town, on the banks of the creek that has since become Davie Crocket Park. This was at the time the main road into town on the south side coming from AL. The family left Lawrenceburg in search of work in the year 1936. We moved to Winter Haven,FL to find work in the orange groves. Jobs were not all that good in winter Haven and Mother and Dad desided to move to Mobile, AL. to try for jobs in the war effort. Mobile was involved with the shipbuilding at the time.This was in the spring of 1942 less than 6 mos. after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. We Purchased a small house in the community of Eight Mile, and became permenent residents. The Family is still located in and around the Mobile area. My Fathers name was Andrew Floyd Urban, born in Loretta TN.,on August 8, 1903, My Mothers name was ethel Livera Dickinson,born in Marion County around Hallyville. There were 4 boys in this family of which Buddy is the fourth and last, born in Lawrenceburg, TN on Dec.16, 1934 . My oldest Brother was Willard Cecil Urban, born in Madison KY. Jan. 15, 1928, known as W.C.. The next Brother was Vernon Horace Urban and was called Horace, born in Lawrenceburg TN.on Sept.23, 1929. The third Brother was James Daniel Urban Of Lawrenceburg, TN and called by the name D.D. My Grand Mother Dickinson was living with us and went to Florida with us, and later to mobile, AL with us. Her name was Mary Susanne Walker born in Iuka, MS. on Aug.1, 1881 she died on February 20, 1951.
