Great Grandparents: Harry Nelson & Mabel Kaasa, Freda (Sjoberg) & Roger J. Bell. Freda Sjoberg's parents: Erik Sjoberg and Inga (Sedin) who emigrated here from Vilhelmina, Vasterbotten, Sweden in 1888 and settled in Roseau, MN. It is said that my Great Grandfather, Harry Nelson, is a decendent of Thomas Nelson, Jr. - signer of the Declaration of Independence, Governor of the state of Virginia, and Revolutionary War General. There is no proof of this claim as of yet, except a manuscript by Harry's Uncle Jake Nelson stating that fact. Harry's paternal grandfather, Enoch Nelson, fought for the Union Army during the Civil War.
