I have currently not done any research into my family's history but am enthralled by the prospect of finding out new information of my relatives. I am in touch with a large number of my relatives on my mothers side but less so on my fathers side. Consequently, i know more information with regards to my mothers side of the family. My maternal relatives are scatered accross a few countries in the world whereas my paternal relatives are predominantly residual in the north-west of England.
My late maternal grandfather was one of 14 children born outside of Dublin of which all except one, moved away from the family home. My maternal grandmother was from the monmouthshire region of Wales as were both her parents.
My paternal grandparents wre from smaller families in northern England and my grandfathers mother i believe, was married twice. I am unsure as to if the surname Urmston came from her first or second marriage.
