I started my research a few years ago, when I wanted to claim my Creek cititzenship. I knew my Great Grandmother had been on the Dawes Roll Call, so I spent hours at the San Diego library going thru microfilm, until I found her name. My Granny died this past December and she had sent me tidbits of information prior to her death. After she died, I acquired the family Bible, and a box full of wonderful pictures. Some are of our ancestors on horseback, or in horse and buggy. Along with these pictures, I got a handful of letters my Granny received as correspondence from other relatives. One held the 1900 Indian Territory Census page regarding my Great Great Grandfathers family. These are all treasures to me, and gave me assurance that I was on the right path, as I explored deeper into our past.
