WOW - The Vahrmeyers in Australia grew from 12 to hundreds after researching on the web and contacting relatives in Holland!
Our information goes back to the 1600s with Joh Winterspecke born in 1635. Our surname was changed by his son Johan to Vahrmeijer, as this was his wife's married name and the name of their farm - The Vahrmeijer Houve. The surname was changed again with the Australian Vahrmeijers to Vahrmeyer just to make spelling easier!

Most of this information was passed on by my husband's cousin in Holland,and alot of recent information connected us with the Canada Vahrmeyers and the rest I found on various websites, so I hope that it is all correct.
