Updated January 7, 2001

About Our Family Research

The origin of this pedigree lies in the northen part of Germany,
in the old days called -Vorpommern-. There, in a little town, called Lasan, we found our roots as far as we could go. For sure we know that our great grand father Johann Jochim Gottfried Vahl married on 17th september 1790 in Amsterdam.
His father Jochim Vahl and uncle Hans Vahl lived, as said in Lassan.
The Jochim Vahl(1692) now is believed to be the ancestor of the Dutch Vahls, while Hans Vahl(1690) is believed to be the ancestor of the German Vahls.
A complete pedigree of the Dutch Vahls has been made by Johan Albertus Vahl in 1993 and published.
