The origin of this pedigree, lies in the northern part of Germany. In the old days called 'Vorpommern'.There, in a little town called Lassan, we found our roots as far as we could go. For sure we know now that our great grandfather Johann Jochim Gottfried Vahl got married, the 17th September 1790, in Amsterdam.
His father Jochim Vahl and uncle Hans Vahl lived, as said, in Lassan. The Jochim Vahl (1692) now, is believed to be the ancestor of the 'Dutch Vahls', while Hans Vahl is believed to be the ancestor of the 'German Vahls'.
A "complete" pedigree of the Dutch Vahls has been made by my brother, Johan Albertus Vahl(born in 1932), and was published in 1993.
