I am in the process of just beginning to do family research. I am very interested in my history and my families history, although my parents have divorced, my mom knows little of my paternal family history, which is what I'm trying to find out about, I'm about to give birth to a daughter, and I'm going to be a single mom. I'm only 19....My last name is Van Atta, and all I know are a few names, of great grandparents and such, I know that I am full blooded German on my dad's side, although my father isn't willing to give me any information. I would like to find out as much as I possibly can about my history. It intrigues me to no end and would like to have something to pass on to my daughter.
