I am doing research in connection with an aunt on my father's side of the family. I have the internet and she has the time to go to the library and do the compiling. We have been able to trace our family back to the immigrant from Germany, John Ulrich, who came over on the ship Pleasant, in 1732, to Philadelphia, PA. I have been told all my life that we descend from England but so far, haven't found the connecti0on. I will keep looking and welcome any help I might receive. So far, our best help has come from distant relatives through my internet connections, by answering any post that seems remotely possibly related and contacting people through the email, and my aunts many hours at the local library in the genealogy room in McArthur, Ohio. We are also researching the other families in our tree, including MALONE, ALLMAN, MIRARIR,NASSER or NESSER, CALDWELL,DAFT, BALLENGER. My own family on the other side would include the following surnames, LENT,BURLEY,NYE,PARTLOW. My moms side of the family includes a lost branch of the tree, since her fathers' father had a whole other family he left in either Georgia or Alabama, when he come to Ohio and "married" my grandfathers mother. The Burley family on my mothers side has a reunion every year at Tar Hollow State park on the sunday closest to July 4,my greatgrandmothers birthday.
