Welcome to my home page! Anyone in the United States whose surname is Van Arsdale, Van Orsdale, Van Artsdalen, Vannorsdoll, Vanosdoll, Van Ausdoll, Vanasdalan, (you get the idea) and even some SIMONSONS are descended from Sijmon Jansz van Aersdalen, who emigrated to New Netherland in 1653. The van Aersdalen Family Association, which took off in July, 1998 with the publication of our flagship journal, The Vanguard (which delves into family history and current events) is presently on hiatus. For more information, please contact me. The family tree presented here is the result of work presented in The Vanguard. This descendant tree is AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE, founded upon as much primary data (actual wills, actual family letters, etc. )as we have available at present. Several years ago I published a "Descendants of Joosten van Haesdaele" on this site; I pulled it because it was based on circumstantial evidence, not documentary evidence. However, that family tree is appearing on other websites ... so beware!
