I started this search about a year ago (2001). So far it has taken me to Ireland, Scotland, England and Canada on the Comack Side (possibly some are in U.S.)and the following U.S. States: Iowa, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine on the Davis Side.
Some of my Davis ancestors can be also be found in Canada and England.
Myself I am Cathrine Heather Comack (married name Vannieuwenburg) and I live in Ontario, Canada.
I have located a lot of my ancestors but as with all family trees there are still a lot of missing pieces.
Surnames I am most interested in are Comack on my father's side and Davis on my mother's side.
I have now included my husband's family tree, Pedersen, Vannieuwenburg, Denmark and Belgium. I have just received the information for Vannieuwenburg, but need information for the Pedersen Family in Denmark.
I will be adding information as I find it so if anyone recognizes these people I hope you will let me know and be willing to share information with me.
My relatives have been very helpful in this endeavor and my thanks goes out to them.
It is now March 2005 and I have located a fair number of my ancestors thanks to some wonderful people who have written with new information. I am now trying to locate my grandmother's family. Her name was Emma Winters Godfrey. She married William Comack. Her side of the family has proved elusive. From what I know her parents are from England. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Surnames related to her are Godfrey, Barr, McCormack
