The VanDerSluis family not only includes research on the Dutch side, but also the German side of the family, namely the Charles David Guckes family of Jersey City, New Jersey. This data base has been expanded due to marriage and also includes two other Jersy City families, the Alton(s) and the Cassirer(s). Information on the vanderSluis family has also been obtained from the archives in Rotterdam, Netherlands. I have been able to obtain information going back to Leendert vanderSluis, my great-great grandfather and Lena Adrichem my great-great grandmother. The Guckes Family information has been obtained from the U.S. Census of 1920, as well as from family sources. Charles David Guckes is my mother's father, my grandfather, and came to the United States in 1892, from Germany. The Alton and Cassirer families are those of my wife Susan. Most of the information has come from the U.S. Census of 1920, some coming from one living Aunt. The information included in this family research also covers the marriages of the siblings and their children where applicable. It is our intent to keep adding to this family research.
